Big Sky State Games Update
The Big Sky State Games wants you to know preparation for the 35th Anniversary Big Sky State Games are underway and their staff is currently working remotely and continues to be optimistic. The health and safety of the participants, friends, family members, the community of Billings and Montana is their top priority. Staff is continually monitoring the situation of COVID-19 virus and is hopeful to have the Big Sky State Games in July.
Here are some updates in the meantime:
“Although we are practicing social distancing and shelter in place policies, it is important to BSSG to provide an option to be active. The Big Sky State Games in conjunction with Shape Up Montana introduced a Virtual 5k challenge this year (participants in Shape Up Montana are automatically entered in the Virtual 5k). There is a discount price of $15 for all employees of sponsors. Participants will be mailed a t-shirt, bib and finisher medal. Check out https://shapeupmontana.org/ for more information.
“Big Sky Fit Kids program currently has a FREE 5210 challenge for youth grades K-5. The 5210 challenge consists of kids eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, limiting leisure screen time to 2 hours or less, completing 1 hour of physical activity, and drinking 0 sugary beverages per day for a whole week. The dates of the 5210 program have been extended to any Monday-Friday between now and May 1. All successful challengers will be entered into a random drawing to win a new bike and helmet.
