Magic City Blues, First Interstate Bank, Billings Clinic raising money for families of pediatric cancer patients
Magic City Blues, George Thorogood, First Interstate Bank and Billings Clinic Foundation are working together to help the families of pediatric cancer patients in the region and ask for the community’s help in reaching a $25,000 fundraising goal.
George Thorogood is headlining the upcoming Magic City Blues Festival and $1 from every ticket sold to his Aug. 2 performance will be donated to Kelker’s Kids, a Billings Clinic Foundation fund that helps the families of pediatric cancer patients cover non-medical costs such as utility bills or travel expenses. Magic City Blues has also agreed to donate $1 from every ticket sold for its Aug. 3 event featuring Postmodern Jukebox and has designated 10 VIP tables that evening from which a portion of the proceeds will go to Kelker’s Kids.
In a generous boost to these efforts, First Interstate Bank will match community donations up to a total of $5,000.
First Interstate Bank and Billings Clinic Foundation are asking members of the community to donate and share their support on social media by posting a selfie and message of support with the hashtag #RockOnWithGeorge. Participants will be entered into a drawing to win two all-inclusive tickets to the 2019 Billings Clinic Classic on August 24.
Kelker’s Kids was established by the Billings Clinic Foundation to financially assist families of children with cancer and other serious blood disorders during difficult times. Assistance ranges from providing funds for travel necessary for cancer treatment to helping make ends meet and covering bills.
