Ryan Newell Dinner/Concert Benefit
13-year-old Ryan Newell was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 30 of this year. It was a very sudden and surprising diagnosis, as he was a healthy, normal kid before. He goes to Ben Steele Middle School, and plays football and baseball. He was basically rushed to Denver 12 hours after his diagnosis, where he spent 4 weeks receiving aggressive chemotherapy. He has also had numerous blood transfusions and lumbar punctures. He spent his 13th birthday in Denver, and wasn’t able to celebrate much. He is now home, but spends much of his time at the Billings Clinic or at home. At the moment, he is fighting a low white-blood cell count, and is also trying to get rid of 2 small blood clots in his lungs. He is the sweetest boy and has such an awesome attitude.
His family and friends have decided to do a fundraiser to help out during this difficult and expensive time. We will be doing a BBQ dinner and concert by local singer Jessica Lechner on Friday, October 26 at Oscar’s Park. Dinner will be served by Camp House BBQ and dessert will be served by Bailey’s Frozen Novelties.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 & under. Tickets will get you dinner, concert, and 1 ice cream treat. There will also be Silent Auction items and Raffle Baskets. Dinner will be served from 5:00-7:00, and the concert will run from 5:30-8:00.
People in the community can help by purchasing tickets and attending the event, donating items to the Silent Auction, or helping pay for the event itself.
