BILLINGS PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL TOPICS AND TAPAS EVENT
Please join the Billings Public Library Thursday, September 27th for the first Topics and Tapas event. From 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Royal Johnson Community Room and Garden, literary-minded young professionals are invited to sip wine or beer, sample assorted tapas from local restaurants, and participate in conversations focused on culture, current events, and politics.
Based on the Library Foundation’s popular event, Food for Thought: An Evening of Great Conversation, Topics and Tapas is geared toward a younger generation, offering a less formal but still intellectually engaging opportunity to discuss “hot topics” and exchange ideas. Topics and Tapas will feature five table hosts, providing guests the ability to participate in several conversations. Participants are encouraged to “speak their mind” with a free-flowing agenda of discourse and discussion.
Tickets are $35 and seating is limited so register today by visiting the Billings Public Library Foundation website and clicking the Topics and Tapas link.
Table Hosts for this year’s conversation are:
Matt Blakeslee “Do movies mimic culture or define it?”
Sam Boerboom “Why can’t we disagree: Have we lost the ability for civil discourse?”
Adam Gross “Success or Happiness: How do you find the sweet spot?”
Jeremiah Young “If walls could talk, what would that say about you?”
Maggie Zaback “Food Flight: Does locally raised food matter to our community?”
The mission of the Billings Public Library Foundation is to raise vital funds to provide a margin of excellence for the award-winning Billings Public Library.
